Veterinary Pet Care Services
We are a Preventative, Wellness and Urgent Care Animal Hospital in Apollo Beach
Our veterinarian and animal hospital, Walk-In Veterinary Care in Apollo Beach FL, provides preventative, wellness and urgent veterinary pet care services not only for Apollo Beach but also Ruskin, Riverview, Sun City and Gibsonton. We also perform routine surgeries and have the capability of scheduling more specialized surgical procedures if needed.
Some Examples of Pet Care Services Provide by Our Hospital
A few of our vet care services include comprehensive exams, core vaccines for puppies, dogs, kittens and cats, parasite screening for intestinal worms and heartworms, plus their prevention. Pet identification microchipping, acute and chronic pain management, geriatric pet care, allergy screening and treatment and behavioral/lifestyle counseling are a few more.

We Provide Urgent Veterinary Pet Care
We are also available for urgent pet care situations. No appointment is necessary during normal office hours. We care for all “walk-in” cases.
If your pet is sick, injured, or just seems off and you know that something isn’t quite right, it can be hard to determine if your pet needs immediate veterinary care. So the question is…what is the difference between urgent and emergency veterinary care? A guide to determine if emergency care is needed, is to evaluate your pet for an injury or illness that is life threatening (difficulty breathing, heart failure, seizures, internal bleeding, collapsing, severe trauma, fractures) and may require hospitalization.
On the other hand, urgent care lies somewhere between emergency care and a routine regular vet visit. It is in a nebulous area where you know there is something wrong with your pet and you feel your pet needs to be examined ASAP.
Urgent Care
As a general rule, Urgent Care is for conditions that need immediate medical attention but are not truly life-threatening. Some of these conditions may include:
- Bite wounds
- Diarrhea or vomiting
- Constipation
- Dehydration
- Itchy skin or rashes
- Wound treatment
- Hair loss
- Pain or limping
- Overgrown nails
- Changes in behavior
- Loss of appetite or overeating
- Cuts and abrasions
- Scooting
- Eye issues (tearing, redness, discharge)
- Ear infections
- Pale gums
- Runny nose, coughing, or sneezing
- Worms, fleas, ticks, or mites
- Urinating blood
- Urinary changes
Emergency Care
The general rule here is that if your pet is experiencing a life threatening situation which may need hospitalization, your pet most likely needs to be taken where emergency care casn be provided:
- Collapse or loss of consciousness
- Paralysis
- Seizures
- Choking
- Excessive bleeding
- Severe or persistent diarrhea or vomiting
- Fractures
- Penetrating wounds
- Heatstroke
- Stopped breathing
- Cardiac arrest
- Trauma or accident, such as falling or being hit by an object or car
- Distressed mother in labor/inability to deliver kittens or puppies
